Plantations

About 20% of Australia's land area is forested
Of that forested area only around 1.3% is plantation forest
Currently, there is nearly 2 million hectares of plantation (52% softwood / 48% hardwood)
Softwood plantations are 73% Radiata Pine (30-40 year rotation)
Approximately one third of the softwood plantations are publicly owned
